ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Nerys started working in kitchens when she was 16 years old. Her background is in fine dining restaurants, working for some of the best chefs in the country. She competed and won several culinary competitions early in her career. This led to her being part of Team New Zealand in 2016 for the esteemed Bocuse D’or – Asia Pacific Continental Selection.

Ketogenic recipes are also low carb, sugar free and gluten free.

Nerys believes that following a Keto lifestyle gets to be easy, indulgent, and sustainable.

There are less than 10 recipes in the cookbooks that are on the website, the rest of the recipes in the cookbook are not available anywhere else!

There is a range of recipes in the book for all meals, with an even spread throughout the chapters. The chapters are: Breakfast, Sauces & Condiments, Low-Carb “Carbs”, Light Meals, Vegetarian & Plant-Based, Dinner, Sides and Baking & Desserts.

There are substitutions wherever possible for dietary requirements like dairy-free alternatives, as well as a chapter on vegetarian & plant-based recipes. At the top of each recipe are symbols that easily show what dietary requirements that recipe fits into. Every recipe is gluten-free and sugar-free.

At the beginning of the book is information on starting keto, an overview on ingredients and a comprehensive (but easy to understand) breakdown on sweeteners. When I was first starting out, I got quite confused about sweeteners, so I did a lot of research to help compile information into one place to make it easier for you! Sweeteners are not always interchangeable, they act differently. So this guide on sweeteners can help you work out if you can substitute them in a recipe, and at what ratio – because they don’t all have the same level of sweetness gram for gram!
