Make Your Own Butter

Ever wanted to make your own butter? It’s surprisingly easy and doesn’t take long at all!

Living in New Zealand, one of the dairy capitals of the world, you would assume that our dairy products over here are cheap, but sadly they are not! Because of that, I thought I’d do a comparison and see if it’s cheaper to buy or make your own.

Alrighty, so this is based of NZD and New Zealand supermarket prices (cheapest possible) but you get an idea of the yields.

If you were only making the butter and discarded the buttermilk then yes, it would be more expensive to make your own butter rather than buy it.

Buttermilk is so versatile, for sweet or savoury. Below is some inspiration for keto uses for buttermilk!
